What to expect during a toddler photo session- Arnold-Missouri

As parents, we’ve all been there when we couldn’t get anything more than a blur or a tantrum when trying to get a photo of our toddler. It doesn’t have to be that way!

Here at Moments to Cherish Portrait Photography, one of our specialties is photographing toddlers. We have the skill and patience to take on the task along with the proper equipment to freeze those moments that go by so fast. We know that toddlers want to do what they want to do and when they are in front of our camera, that’s ok! We don’t expect them to sit perfectly still. Our approach is to make it more like play time with silly songs and noises, peek-a-boo, playing catch and whatever else interests your little one. Meanwhile, we are getting them where we want them and capturing those wonderful expressions. Toddler photography doesn’t have to be a chore that ends in tears. Bring your toddler to Moments to Cherish and we will make sure to photograph the smiles and all the silly little faces they make that you love.

A toddler photo session doesn’t need to take long. It can be hard to hold their interest for an hour. Expect the session to last anywhere from 15-30 minutes. Most sessions are done in the 15-20 minute time frame. I have had ones that were 10 minutes with plenty of beautiful images. However, your toddler behaves during the session shouldn’t worry you. We are pros at moving quickly while still providing images that you will cherish.

Here at Moments to Cherish Portrait Photography, we are big on letting kids be themselves. We love all the goofy things they do and will be capturing it for you. This stage of childhood is so much fun and isn’t meant to be rigid and serious.

Additional note from the photographer - “I have the fondest memories from when my son was a toddler. Yes, there were some difficult times (talk about the threenager stage), but this is when their personalities really start to show. They are learning so quickly. Something I love about toddlers is that they genuinely don’t care what people think. They are just doing their thing and having fun and it is such a joy to watch. You can trust that I have the experience, patience and passion for this. My first job was actually at a daycare where it was mostly toddlers and babies. I went on to be a nanny for a newborn and throughout her toddler years. I focused heavily on preschool photography for a few years. I became an aunt at the age of 8 and many nieces and nephews have been born since. Basically, my life has been all about babies, toddlers and kids. They really are fantastic.” - Brittani
